The onshore oil and gas industry is required to ensure that the workforce is prepared for an emergency in terms of escaping and evacuating from a particular worksite or location if required.
This course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills and confidence to respond appropriately in the event of an onshore emergency covering evacuation procedures, firefighting and self-rescue as well as emergency first aid. This course is based upon the syllabus of the globally recognized BOSIET/FOET.
Delegates successfully completing OPITO approved training and/or assessment events are registered by OPITO into the Vantage database, the validity of Certificate is 4 years.
Target Group for the BOER
This programme is designed to meet the initial onshore emergency response training requirements for personnel in the onshore oil and gas industry.
Delegate pre-requisites for the BOER
No prerequisites are required.
Physical and stressful demands of the BOER
Training and/or assessment activities contained within this Standard may include physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel who participate in such activities must be physically and mentally capable of participating fully.
Before be accepted on the Course, the candidate will present:
a. A valid, current job medical certificate or
b. a valid medical certificate for driving
Duration of the BOER
Tre course duration is 1 day.
Aim of the BOER
The aim of this training are to introduce delegates to the specific emergency response issues and regimes relevant to onshore oil and gas operations, in relation to the proactive and reactive responses for personnel in the event of an onshore emergency.
